Back to Basics

This weekend I spent some time with my amazing parents. They rode out the storm (Hurricane Harvey) and thankfully, did not see any damage to their home. Unfortunately, some our neighbors, friends and family were not as fortunate. I am not from Houston, so to speak, but it's my adopted home. I moved there when I was 15, and moved from home when I was 19. I met lifelong friends, and the city has a big contribution to the shape of me, as a person. Driving around the city and seeing the devastation of the restaurants we frequent, neighborhoods of old friends, and businesses near our home, broke my heart. My mom and I did our best to collect donations and help the community as much as we could. It truly does not feel like enough. It's our time to rally together to help all of those affected. At the bottom, is a link of some local charities if you would like to donate.

A Texas Summer Weekend

Texas Summers are brutal, they're long, they're hot and they're fun. Filled with last minute get-a-ways with those you love, even if you spend the time in the A.C. Summertime Blues

Well Summer is coming to an end. This summer is really an end of an era for me. I have graduated from college and I am not sure what is in store for me. I am however, very excited for what comes my way. Anyone else starting a new chapter? Fall for me is always about winding down the year, putting the past to bed and starting fresh. It's my favorite season and I'm looking forward to many changes, not only the ones in the trees.
