Rainy Sunday

Sundays are the days of rest. Time to regroup, prepare for the week and relax. And Austin, is the town for weekends. Brunching is a must, coffee in the afternoon a habit, and walks on a rooftop, well I don't know if other Austinite do that, but why wouldn't you. There's no better view than from the top.

The Tastemakers

Music is my first love. Do you ever wish your life had a soundtrack? A memory you could replay with a song to evoke the feeling you had that very moment. Well, I certainly do. I created a short little playlist for you who may be looking for something new and fresh, or to remember a song you completely forgot about. Comment your favorite song right now! (Whether it's on this list or not, I'd love to know!)

Energy Boosting Smoothie : My Migraine Pick-Me Up

I spent this beautiful Sunday, with my great friend Crystal. She's a local herbalist who specializes in natural medicine. In my search for natural remedies and foods to incorporate for diet, I knew exactly where to turn. Crystal listened to everything I've endured this year she recommend countless options I could try.
I suffer from migraines, and through the years I realized my trigger was waiting too long to eat. I can feel when my blood sugar is low, and I immediately get an intense headache, feel weak and sometimes even nauseous. We created a smoothie for just that! We're calling it the Energy Boosting Smoothie. My personal Migraine Pick-Me up. Chocolate Banana smoothie with cinnamon and turmeric. The perfect blend to get your energy back to 100%. See below for the recipe!

What you need : 2 ripe bananas, 1 cup of Almond Milk, Cinnamon, Tummeric (Ground or Capsules) , Chocolate Flavoring,  Add Ice.

Delicious and perfect for when you're feeling you need an extra boost to get through your day!
Now back to the fashion, here's my Sunday Funday look.

Back to Basics

This weekend I spent some time with my amazing parents. They rode out the storm (Hurricane Harvey) and thankfully, did not see any damage to their home. Unfortunately, some our neighbors, friends and family were not as fortunate. I am not from Houston, so to speak, but it's my adopted home. I moved there when I was 15, and moved from home when I was 19. I met lifelong friends, and the city has a big contribution to the shape of me, as a person. Driving around the city and seeing the devastation of the restaurants we frequent, neighborhoods of old friends, and businesses near our home, broke my heart. My mom and I did our best to collect donations and help the community as much as we could. It truly does not feel like enough. It's our time to rally together to help all of those affected. At the bottom, is a link of some local charities if you would like to donate.
